MN Real ID Requirements
To obtain a Real ID in Minnesota, you must provide specific documentation that verifies your identity, Social Security Number, and Minnesota residency. Here’s a summary of the requirements:
1. Proof of Identity and Date of Birth
- U.S. Birth Certificate (certified copy)
- Valid, unexpired U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Permanent Resident Card
Note: If your current name is different from the name on your identity document, you must also provide a document that proves your name change (e.g., marriage certificate, divorce decree, court order).
2. Proof of Social Security Number
- Social Security Card
- W-2 form
- SSA-1099 form
- Non-SSA-1099 form
- Pay stub with your name and full SSN
3. Proof of Minnesota Residency
- Utility bill (water, gas, electric, etc.)
- Rental or lease agreement
- Mortgage statement
- Property tax bill
- Minnesota vehicle registration or title

- Pay stub with your name and address
- Any document issued by a federal, state, or local government
