NJ Real ID Requirements
To obtain a Real ID in New Jersey, you’ll need to meet specific documentation requirements. Here’s a summary of what’s required:
1. Proof of Identity
- U.S. Birth Certificate (certified copy)
- Valid, unexpired U.S. Passport
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Permanent Resident Card
2. Proof of Social Security Number

- W-2 form with your full Social Security Number
- Pay stub with your name and full SSN
- SSA-1099 form
- Non-SSA-1099 form
3. Proof of New Jersey Residency
